HAVANA, cUBA, Nov 28 (ACN) Today for Cuba is a day of victory and happiness, said Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban communist party, on the occasion of the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year throughout the country.
The president said on Twitter that Monday he participated in the national ceremony for the beginning of the new school year in the province of Pinar del Rio, the most affected after the passage of Hurricane Ian, on September 27.
Diaz-Canel highlighted the creative resistance of the people of that province, who despite the damage caused by the tropical cyclone, category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale of a maximum of 5, reopened the doors of their educational centers.

The ceremony was held at the Pepito Tey elementary school, located at kilometer 14 of the road to La Coloma, one of the 477 educational institutions damaged in Pinar del Rio.
