Havana, Nov 25 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero attended the closing session of the International Congress of Law Professionals (Abogacia 2022) held this week at Havana’s Conventions Center.
The session paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz in the 6th anniversary of his passing.
Over one thousand law professionals from Cuba and some 50 foreign guests attended the event which allowed the exchange, learning and update on law-related issues.
The forum included lectures on legal reforms in Cuba and their impact on the activity of law professionals.
In the forum’s opening session, Wednesday, the president of the Legal Aid offices National Organization, Lilia Maria Hernandez, said that the congress helps local lawyers to face current and future legal challenges.
The meeting is one more proof of the legal practice committed to Cuban society, which is in tune with the principles relevant to the construction of socialism in Cuba, said the official. With this regards, she pointed at the transparent and universal access to justice and the respect for the citizens’ rights, which are stipulated in the Cuban Constitution approved in 2019 by a people’s referendum.
The International Event aimed at the management and solution of legal litigations, with the participation of lawyers, judges, attorneys and university professors and students, as well as experts of other disciplines who are interested in the issue.
