HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) Improving the results of the first day will be the goal of the Cuban sailboats that will compete today in the 1st Central American and Caribbean Games of Santa Marta 2022.
On Sunday, in the women’s Sunfish regatta—led so far by Venezuela and Colombia—the Cuban Jaimet Ruano finished third, whereas in the men’s event Manuel Enrique Lugo is currently in fourth place, behind Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Cayman Islands.
Other Cubans who competed were Dennier Infante, fifth in the ILCA Laser 7; Lisbetsy Rojo, sixth in the ILCA Laser 6; Luis Giraldo Gonzalez, sixth and last in Kite Surf; and Adriano Castro did not participate in two IQFOIL board races and did not finish another two.
In addition to fighting for tickets to the 1st World Games in 2023, the Cubans have in mind the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, the Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile and the ALBA Games in Venezuela.
