Cuba carries out dynamic test ahead of municipal elections

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) Cuba carried out on Sunday the dynamic test that precedes the elections of delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power, to be held on November 27, with the purpose of "evaluating communication, transportation, the conditions in the polling stations and the training of the actors involved.

Rehearsing the closing of a vote, in order to improve its speed and efficiency, concentrated a good part of the dynamic test in the 289 polling stations of the Municipal Electoral Council (CEM) of Cienfuegos.

Miguel Angel Chavez, president of the CEM, considers that this electoral culmination, as well as the whole process from the opening of each polling station, communications, transportation, among other aspects, must be synchronized in tune with the quality of the vote, in which the people will elect their delegates of the People's Power.

Located in the Rafael Espinosa secondary school in Cienfuegos, the CEM assumes the largest number of voters in the province, for which they receive the support of the so-called "godfathers", which are the companies of the territory in charge of insurance.

At only 18 years old, Lorena Perez Diaz made her debut as a member of the table of school 1, of the circumscription 117, of the city of Sancti Spíritus; and although in her voice there was a certain nervousness, the dynamic test of this Sunday, allowed her to finalize details as a guarantee of a successful day on November 27.

Mirta Nápoles Marín, secretary of the Electoral Commission of District 117, highlighted to ACN the seriousness and dedication of young people like Lorena throughout the process and, especially, today, when the conditions created for the development of the elections were checked, among them, the variants of the communication system and the documentation.




In Ciego de Avila, the 899 polling stations set up for the elections to be held on the 27th, finalized details related to transportation, communications and other material conditions to guarantee the success of the elections.

Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in this province, toured, together with other political and government leaders of the province, districts of the capital city and exchanged with electoral authorities of the polling stations about the results of the verification.

Caridad Ramos Sánchez, president of the Electoral Council in the province of Holguín told ACN that during the dynamic test they reviewed the completion of the electoral authority, the conditions of the 2,368 premises that will function as polling stations next Sunday and the training of the personnel involved in the election process.

She specified that there are 200 polling stations in areas of difficult access in the Turquino Plan where conditions were guaranteed in order to develop a transparent process during the day when the people elect their delegates to the municipal assemblies of the People's Power.

With a particular look at its Plan Turquino, where 179 circumscriptions and 443 polling stations are ready, the eastern province of Granma carried out the dynamic test in order to guarantee the success of the elections of the delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of the People's Power.

Although in two municipalities there were incidents with transportation, and in others there were cases of absence of messengers due to illness, the first stage of the test, which gave way to the practical exercise of vote counting, was considered successful.

Mariano Basulto Pérez, president of the Provincial Electoral Council in Camagüey, described as timely and efficient the dynamic test carried out in the 1,662 polling stations of that territory.

Another aspect of special interest during the day was the communications check, since given the vastness of the province, more than two thousand means of communication will be used, including fixed telephones, cellular phones, radio bases and messengers, to ensure the optimal functioning of this means of transportation.
