Havana, Nov 17 (ACN) Representatives of the Cuban Foreign Ministry and the International Red Cross Committee affirmed their willingness to keep expanding bilateral cooperation.
The two sides described the 8th Session of High-Level Bilateral Dialog as useful and fruitful, while they expect to again meet in 2023.
The meetings, which were held in Havana, November 15 and 16, are part of permanent exchanges between the two parties as the allowed to identify many areas of common interest.
Bilateral cooperation is based on the share interest in promoting the honoring of International Humanitarian Law and guaranteeing the protection of victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters.
During the meeting, Cuba thanked the valuable collaboration by the Red Cross under the COVID-19 pandemic and the assistance of irregular Haitian migrants who arrive in Cuban territory.
Meanwhile, Red Cross representatives described as positive Cuba’s role in world forums in defense of International Humanitarian Law.
