HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 16 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez begins today a tour of Algeria, Russia, Turkey and China in response to official invitations from the leaders of those countries, with whom the head of state will address issues of relevance to Cuba, mainly regarding the energy sector.
The program for the visits responds to Cuba's political and economic priorities and the country’s ongoing efforts to tackle the effects of the post-pandemic crisis that overwhelms the whole world, aggravated in the case of the Island by the U.S. blockade.
Joining Díaz-Canel in this tour—the first after two years of pandemic—are Deputy Prime Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas, Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente de la O, Minister of Public Health José Ángel Portal.
