HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 15 (ACN) The 15th Central American and Caribbean Chemistry Olympiad (OCCQ by its Spanish acronym) - Cuba 2022 began in Havana, with headquarters at the University of Informatics Sciences (UCI).
The competition will be held in virtual modality until November 19 with the participation of students from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Cuba and Panama as observers.
The Cuban delegation is made up of pre-university students Daniel Alejandro Gonzalez Guzman, Royman Ramos Perez, Erick Jordan Abreu and Diego Armando Ramirez, along with their two professors, Rolando Alfonso Valdes and Rafael Rodriguez Rodriguez.
Cira Piñeiro Alonso, first vice minister of the Cuban ministry of education ( MINED), and the rector of the UCI, PhD, Dr. Raydel Montesino Perurena, were present at the ceremony.
