Cuba and Venezuela to Expand Bilateral Relations

 

Havana, Nov 10 (ACN) Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Revolution Commander Ramiro Valdes and Venezuela’s Vice-president Delcy Rodriguez agreed in deepening and expanding bilateral relations between their two nations.

According to Granma newspaper, during Valdes’ visit to Caracas, the two officials addressed the advancement and projections of the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Accord, originally signed in 2000 by leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

Twenty two years after the signing of the accord, the two governments keep updating the agreement through the exchange of delegations, like the one headed by Ramiro Valdes to Caracas these days.

The bilateral alliance has allowed enhancing programs in the fields of education, culture, health, sports, food, energy, communications and science, and in other strategic areas, according to the newspaper article.

Over 1.4 thousand cooperation projects have been developed in key Venezuelan sectors with the support by some 260 thousand experts from the island nation.

The Cuban deputy Prime Minister is accompanied by Energy and Mines Minister Vicente de la O, the director of the CubaPetroleo company Nestor Perez, Cuban ambassador to Venezuela Dagoberto Rodriguez and the head of the Economic and Commercial office at the Cuban embassy in Caracas Lazaro Artola.
