Havana, Nov 9 (ACN) The Cuban Meteorology Institute reported on Wednesday evening that tropical storm Nicole kept gaining intensity during the day and was spotted just 30 kilometers east of Grand Bahamas and 180 kilometers east of West Palm Beach Florida, at 6 pm.
Nicole is expected to turn west northwest over the next 12 hours and then northwestwards on Thursday morning to gain in intensity and become a category one hurricane before hitting the east coast of the US state of Florida also on Thursday.
The institute advisory says that Nicole has 110 kilometer-per –hour sustained winds with higher gusts and is increasing its speed at 20 kilometers per hour.
