HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 8 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the party and president of the country, participated in the last session of the national plenary of the cattle sector.
The capacity of the Cuban livestock sector to recover despite the deterioration of recent years was the topic discussed, according to the website of the presidency.
This plenary session was a continuation of others held as part of the policies for the strengthening of agriculture and which have allowed the adoption of measures to favor productive processes.
The first secretary noted, however, that the measures adopted to favor agricultural production are not yet known by all producers, a deficiency that is the responsibility of the companies, which have not been able to inform and explain the decisions and their scope.
Díaz-Canel also urged to increase agricultural extension, starting with officials and managers of municipal enterprises, who should approach producers, since they are the main actor in livestock production.
In Cuba there is enough knowledge and capacity to resume beef and milk production levels, he added, also referring to the work of the Commander of the Revolution Guillermo Garcia Frias.
