Havana, Oct 19 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez welcomed Natalia Kanem, undersecretary general of the United Nations Organization on Wednesday.
Kanem’s visit is a proof of the strengthening of bilateral relations between Cuba and the UN Population Fund (UNPF), which she also heads as executive director, according to the Twitter account of the Cuban Presidency.
The Cuban President extended his gratefulness for the cooperation maintained with Cuba by the UN and the UNPF executive director.
Meanwhile, Kanem conveyed greetings from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and said that she was happy with her visit here.
Prior to her meeting with the Cuban President, Kanen, who is a pediatrician, gave a key-note lecture at the Cuba-Salud 2022 International Health Convention underway in Havana.
