Matanzas, Cuba, Feb 22 (ACN) All workers with the Fuel Trade Company in this western province are prepared to fight any oil spill and minimize damage, said Andres Avalos, with the company technical division.
Avalos, a chemical engineer, told the Cuban News Agency that a recent investment allowed the purchase of beach and ocean contention barriers and train personnel to display such technique.
At present we have means and resources to face any emergency, even support other territories, said Avalos who counts on 30 years of experience in the company. He said the investment project also allowed purchasing new elements to help connection with the tanker ships.
The Cuban company aims efforts at meeting what is known here as Life Task, a state program to face climate change as it also participates in the program to eliminate pollution sources in the Bay of Matanzas through a project coordinated with other local entities.
