Bruno Rodriguez leads Cuban delegation to CELAC Foreign Ministers' Meeting

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 6 (ACN) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla presides over the Cuban delegation to the 22nd Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), to be held on Friday, Jan. 7 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Mexico will hand over the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community to the host country, according to a note from the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

“This meeting will make it possible to keep advancing in the revitalization of CELAC as a genuinely Latin American and Caribbean mechanism for political coordination, based on the principle of unity in diversity,” the source said.

Rodríguez Parrilla highlighted today on Twitter his country’s commitment to the aforesaid principle, as evidenced by the participation of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel in the 6th CELAC Summit last September.

During the 21st Meeting of Foreign Ministers in Mexico in July 2021, Cuba ratified its commitment to unity and integration and to the defense of Latin America as a Zone of Peace.

With 32 member countries, CELAC is an instrument for political coordination, cooperation and integration of Latin American and Caribbean states.
