16th International Congress on Sugar and Sugarcane Derivatives, Diversification 2022, convened

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 4 (ACN) The AZCUBA Sugar Group, the Cuban Association of Sugar Technicians and the Cuban Institute of Research on Sugarcane Derivatives announce the 16th International Congress on Sugar and Sugarcane Derivatives, Diversification 2022, to be held from June 20 to 24.

The event is intended to share update knowledge on the use of sugarcane’s potential and, particularly, display technologies, products and services of this industry, according to a note published by Cubaminrex.

“Technologists, researchers, businessmen and producers from all over the world are invited to exchange related information, knowledge and experiences, at a time when we are all coping with the negative effects of the pandemic.”

In order to facilitate participation, the congress will be held in virtual and face-to-face modalities, and it will be focused on topics such as sugarcane agriculture, advances in sugar technology and industrial efficiency, integration of renewable energy sources for the sugar industry, development of derivatives (wax, alcohols, beverages, sorbitol), fiber derivatives, cellulose and lignin from sugarcane bagasse, among others.

Simultaneously with the congress, Cuba will host both EXPOAZUCAR 2022, an International Fair for all national and international sugar enterprises to showcase their state of the art, and a Business Forum to facilitate contacts with potential clients, promote new investments, and report on the status on investment projects currently under way.
