HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 29 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz described the derailment, assault and seizure of the Armored Train of the Batista tyranny by rebel troops of the "Ciro Redondo" column # 8 sixty-three years ago today as one of the most relevant events during the last stage of our insurrectional struggle.
On the social network Twitter, Marrero Cruz highlighted that the military action of December 29, 1958 in the city of Santa Clara, led by Ernesto Che Guevara, became one of the Rebel Army’s most important actions in central Cuba.
In honor of the said attack, a memorial was built right on site.
