Holguin, Cuba, Dec 28 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero submitted his report as lawmaker for the municipality of Gibara, eastern Holguin province, focusing on pending and upcoming actions to meet the people’s necessities.

Addressing the 27th Session of the 17th Mandate of the Municipal Administration in Gibara, Marrero mentioned the need to address the construction of homes, prioritizing households led by women with two or three children, since they are under the benefit of the country’s demographic policies.

Addressing pending issues, the Premier mentioned the city’s aqueduct and sewage systems, the need to expand the offer of agricultural products at local markets, and the revision of prices at state and private market places.

Marrero said that the priority for the municipal government must focus on the solution of problems reported by the people so that they do not feel helpless or without assistance, so that the territory can keep developing.

As to some actions to take next year, the Prime Minister mentioned a detailed study on the annual budget destined to investment projects to contribute to lower the number of vulnerable cases and to refurbish educational, cultural and health facilities in the city.

As Cuban Prime Minister, Marrero proposed to appoint a representative of the central government to supervise the implementation of policies, regulations and norms adopted by the provincial government in Holguin.

The session was attended by Holguin’s governor Julio Cesar Estupiñán, while other reports were submitted by another three lawmakers for the municipality of Gibara.
