HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 28 (ACN) The Special Electoral Commission of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) was constituted with the mission of organizing the work of participation of this institution in the popular consultation of the Code of Families, recently approved by the National Assembly of People's Power.
According to Granma newspaper, a document was read out on Monday, in the presence of Alina Balseiro Gutierrez, president of the National Electoral Council, FAR chiefs and electoral authorities, which stated the constitution of the Commission and the oath of office of its members.
The members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces will contribute positively to the holding of the debates in their places of residence and will also call for participation in the referendum during September, said the second chief of the Political Directorate of this body and president of the Special Electoral Commission of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, General of Brigade Marcelo Perez Perez.
The Special Electoral Commission of the FAR will have the mission of organizing the work of the institution's participation in the popular consultation on the Family Code, a process to be held between February 1st and April 30th throughout the country.
