HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 23 (ACN) On the 62nd anniversary of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), its top leader, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, highlighted its dignity, loyalty and commitment to the people as typical values of the revolutionary diplomats.
The Minister wrote on Twitter that MINREX hails its new birthday with pride and determination to keep defending Cuba and its project, based on Marti, Fidel and socialism.
In the same social network, MINREX evoked the words of Raúl Roa, known as the Chancellor of Dignity, when he said that this ministry has been Cuba's trench and the diplomatic shield of the Revolution in the international arena.
On his end, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero congratulated MINREX and praised its work as representative and protector of the nation's principles.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba was established on December 23, 1959 at the proposal of Raúl Roa and by decree of the Revolutionary Government. It replaced the former Ministry of State, which only served the interests of the United States.
The Cuban Government recognizes this change as a symbol of the firm position of independence, sovereignty and social justice that would mark MINREX’s work of the institution from then on.
