Cuban President: In Cuba, even the Impossible will always be Possible

Havana, Dec 22 (ACN) In this Cuba even the impossible will always be possible, every work will be a song to our homeland and the revolution based on a critical and self-critical glance always committed, said Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel in his closing speech at the 8th Session of the Cuban Parliament’s 9th Legislature.

The year 2021 became a great school, said Diaz-Canel, who called to think and act and work with efficiency. He admitted that Cuban economy has undergone an exceptional time marked by the strengthening of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, the pandemic, a deficit of offer of products, inflation and other elements that hinder all advancement efforts.

This has been a year of deep transformations; measures to shield the state companies, the increase of agricultural yield, the expansion of economic entities, among others he said and added that the end of the year is expected to take the country on the road to gradual economic recovery.

A major goal is the recovery of the value of the Cuban Peso and in this effort government decisions are under consideration, said the head of state who said that municipalities are the crucial scenarios for the country’s advancement since it is in the communities where the budgets are implemented and where the People’s Power must first be strengthened.

Major challenges this year included power generation after blackouts took place due to lack of on-time maintenance of power plants, the president said and noted that over the past months Cuba received the support of many countries in reciprocity for the contribution by the island to people in need.
