HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 22 (ACN) The 8th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), in its 9th Legislature, continues this Wednesday at the Havana´s Conventions Center.
In the morning, Cuban educators will be recognized on the 60th anniversary of the Literacy Campaign and Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic, will give an account of his work.
This Wednesday, the agreements and Decree-Laws adopted by the Council of State will also be ratified, the update of the legislative schedule will be reported and in the afternoon session, the report on the rendering of accounts of the Provincial Government of Sancti Spiritus will be presented to the deputies.
The first day of the ordinary session took place on Tuesday, December 21, with the presence of Army General Raúl Castro, historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic.
The deputies, gathered in plenary session, approved the Economy Plan and the State Budget Law for next year, as well as the laws on Territorial and Urban Planning and Land Management, Military Courts, Military Criminal Procedure and the Family Code.
