Cuban Parliament starts two-day sessions



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 21 (ACN) The 8th Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), in its IX Legislature, officially begins this Tuesday and will be held until tomorrow at the Havana's Conventions Center.

This Tuesday, deputies will be presented with the summary of the economy for 2021 and the plan and draft law of the State budget for next year.

Subsequently, the analysis of the draft laws on Territorial and Urban Planning and Land Management, the Military Courts, the Military Criminal Procedure and the Family Code will be presented, according to the opinions of the corresponding commissions.
The activities that preceded this moment of the Cuban legislative body included the debate of the four bills.

Likewise, the permanent work commissions met with a busy agenda in which they discussed the bills, economic matters, the control and implementation of the legal norms approved by the ANPP, the improvement of the People's Power and the progress of the accountability process.

They also discussed the National Program for the Advancement of Women and the status of the Mother and Child Program, and explained how the popular consultation on the draft Family Code will be carried out, among other issues.

The parliamentarians also received a series of information from several ministries: the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, the Ministry of Domestic Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Food Industry.
