HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 17 (ACN) The second day of the 3rd Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) began this morning with the presentation of the National Program for the study, research and diffusion of the thought, life and work of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.
On Twitter, the First Secretary of the PCC and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, emphasized that no issue that impacts Cuban society can be outside the work of the Party, an issue proven during the first day of sessions of this Plenary Session, held on Thursday.
Discussions continue today, focusing on economic issues, the president informed in his message.
As reported today by the Twitter of the Cuban Presidency, the 3rd Plenary Session is analyzing this morning a proposal of 93 measures to save the sugar industry, its derivatives and the generation of electric energy.
About the sugar industry, more than 160, 000 workers are directly related to it; and another 600, 000 people are somehow linked to it.
Since 2017, productions in the sector have been decreasing and 2021 was the most dramatic moment, and highlighted that the industry is the focus of the life of fifty municipalities and bateyes.
For this reason, this industry is also the identity of the Nation, the Presidency pointed out.
