Cuban Foreign Minister denounces U.S. non-compliance with immigration agreements

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 13 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced the failure of the United States to comply with migration agreements with the Caribbean nation.

The non-compliance by the U.S. of the migratory agreements with #Cuba, conceived to prevent unsafe migration, joins the reinforcement of the blockade and together they are to blame for the loss of lives, wrote the head of Cuban diplomacy in his official Twitter account.

This Saturday, the Ministry of Interior released a note informing that at 9:30 p.m. on December 10, 2021, the Maritime Coordination Center for Search and Rescue of Border Troops received a distress call from a boat in the vicinity of the town of Santa Cruz del Norte, Mayabeque province.

It adds that surface units of the Coast Guard Troops, with the participation of a private boat, provided assistance to the shipwrecked crew of a semi-sunken speedboat, with registration FL 7176SU of the United States, overloaded with people, in adverse weather conditions with sea force three.

As a result of these actions, 2 minors, 7 women and 14 men were rescued, among them two dead.

The search for possible missing persons continued during December 11, with the participation of naval units and other forces of the Ministry of the Interior, in the vicinity of the coast.

Once again, Cuban citizens are victims of the policy of the United States Government, which stimulates irregular emigration, which is taken advantage of by human traffickers, who for profit put the lives and deaths of human beings at risk, states the note from the Ministry of the Interior.
