HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) The U.S. economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba is the most extensive and massive violation of the human rights of an entire people, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and president of the country, wrote today on Twitter, on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day.
From his social media, the Cuban leader acknowledged that with resistance and creativity we will defeat it.
Diaz-Canel has previously recognized that the blockade is and will be a serious obstacle to our development plans, but it is not an insurmountable impediment and we will continue fighting against it with the support of the international community.
As every year, Cuba marks this day in spite of obstacles, aggressions, blockades and manipulations, highlighting the efforts of the Caribbean island to guarantee all the rights of its citizens.
Human Rights Day is celebrated every December 10, commemorating the day on which, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly approved the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
