Havana, Dec 7 (ACN) The Cuban biotech and pharmaceutical conglomerate BioCubaFarma granted Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel a special distinction for his support of scientific research and technological development required to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
The distinction was granted during a ceremony held on Tuesday for the ninth anniversary of BioCubaFarma, according to the Twitter account of the Havana-based Finlay Vaccines Institute.
During the ceremony, the Cuban President said that the prestigious biotech group dedicated to the production of pharmaceuticals, equipment and high-quality services has arrived at its anniversary full of dignity, results and successes.
Diaz-Canel said that two important achievements of the conglomerate have been the setting up of a biotech compound at the Mariel Special Development Zone and the sovereignty reached with the locally developed vaccines against COVID-19.
