HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 29 (ACN) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, congratulated today the outstanding singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez, on his 75th birthday.
Yesterday, as so many times, we sang Silvio's songs. We and our children, who have some tastes in common. Happy 75th poet, wrote the president on Twitter.
In another communication, Diaz-Canel also quoted different verses of Silvio's songs, and assured that Cuba wakes up humming his lyrics.
Cuban troubadour Silvio Rodríguez has composed the music and lyrics of hundreds of songs, which can be appreciated in a wide discography. He has also published the books "Canciones del mar" ("Songs of the sea"), by Ojala ediciones, in 1996, and "Cancionero" ("Songbook"), in 2008.
