Cuban Foreign Minister in Dominican Republic for Ibero-American Ministerial Forum



Havana, Nov 25 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez arrived in the Dominican Republic on Thursday to attend the First Ibero-American Ministerial Meeting.

The gathering will focus on issues linked to the next 28th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in 2022, Rodriguez wrote on his Twitter account.

Minister Rodriguez was welcomed at the Las Americas International airport by the Cuban ambassador to Santo Domingo Milagros Carina Soto and protocol personnel.

The ministerial meeting to kick off Friday, will consider post COVID-19 recovery actions and proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening Ibero-American integration, multilateralism, democracy and the wellbeing of the people.

Recent suggestions by economy ministers to face the current economic crises and debts are also on the ministerial meeting’s agenda.

Other aspects include the appointment of a new secretary general to replace Rebeca Grynspan, who was appointed general secretary of the UN Commerce and Development Conference.

The Dominican Republic will host the upcoming Ibero-American Summit under the slogan: “Together towards a Fair and Sustainable Ibero-America.
