Havana, Aug 24 (ACN) Cuban Energy and Mines minister Livan Arronte stressed the island’s efforts to expand the generation of energy based on renewable sources.
The Cuban minister took part at the Third Meeting of the Reginal Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean with the International Solar Alliance, where he said that Cuba is implementing solar applications in sectors like agriculture, the domestic area, industries and companies. The island recently approved incentives to encourage foreign investment in the field of renewable sources.
Cuba is currently producing over 200 Megawatts in solar parks, but the country’s major goal is producing 100 percent of the energy needed out of renewable sources.
