Tropical depression Grace approaches Hispaniola

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 16 (ACN) Tropical depression Grace during the early morning has had little change in organization and intensity. It has sustained maximum winds that do not exceed 55 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts, a minimum pressure of 1010 hectoPascal, and is moving at a rate of 24 kilometers per hour.

At 6:00 a.m. its central region was estimated at 17.4 degrees north latitude and 70.4 degrees west longitude, a position that places it 240 kilometers southeast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti and 675 kilometers east-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica.

During the next 12 to 24 hours, tropical depression Grace will have little change in organization and intensity, with the possibility of strengthening starting Tuesday and will move with a similar direction and speed of translation, bending its trajectory to the west northwest, to approach today in the afternoon to the Barahona Peninsula in the Dominican Republic and move from the night very close to the Tiburon Peninsula, southern portion of Haiti.

The next tropical cyclone warning for this tropical system will be issued at noon today.
