HAVANA, Cuba, May 4 (ACN) Cuba painfully bids farewell to the Very Reverend Pablo Oden Marichal Rodriguez, said today on Twitter Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, on the death of the 81-year-old prominent ecumenical leader on Monday.
In his message, the Cuban leader assured that Marichal Rodríguez was respected and loved for his brave ecumenism and his faith in human betterment.
He added that as a religious and parliamentarian he will always be distinguished among the best sons of the Homeland.
A retired pastor of the Episcopal Church of Cuba, he held different responsibilities in religious organizations such as the Student Christian Movement, the Christian Conference of the Caribbean and the Council of Churches of Cuba.
Marichal Rodríguez was a member of the National Assembly of People's Power from 1998 to the present, and has held different positions in the International Relations Commission.
