For a just, democratic and equitable international economic order

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 22 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sident of the Republic of Cuba, advocated today on Twitter a just, democratic and equitable international economic order that better addresses the root causes of inequality.

Díaz-Canel reaffirmed what he said on Wednesday, during his online intervention at the 27th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, and pointed out that until such an international economic order is not in place, the Sustainable Development Goals will remain a chimera for most of the peoples of the world.

The Cuban leader also warned that the current development paradigms cause poverty and exclusion of the majority due to their irrational patterns of production and consumption, disdainful, in the name of the market, of the most valuable thing, namely human life and dignity.

In view of this scenario, the Cuban President urged to work for an inclusive Ibero-America that takes into account the interests and development needs of all its members and favors the progress of nations.
