MATANZAS, Cuba, Mar 17 (ACN) Empresa de Proyectos de Arquitectura e Ingeniería (EMPAI) is the first entity in the province of Matanzas to certify its services to the Cuban standard NC-ISO 50001 on energy management and thus contributes to the optimal use of our resources.
General director Jorge Luis Hernández Rodríguez told ACN that the principles of efficiency and rationality prevail in every design coming out of the three-time winner of the National Quality Award of the Republic of Cuba.
He explained that EMPAI implements alternative solutions in its projects to guarantee sustainable and more energy-efficient facilities and help the country's economy.
“We have an integrated quality management system in place and comply with all environmental and occupational health and safety standards,” he remarked.
The entity is currently engaged in major hotel-building projects at the Varadero beach resort.
According to José Antonio Dean, a local specialist of the National Office for the Rational Use of Energy (ONURE), about twenty hotels and 11 industrial entities in the province are participating in a program of energy management systems, with international financing.
