Havana, March 16 (ACN) Cuban Tourism minister Juan Carlos Garcia is heading a delegation from his sector to Moscow’s 27 International Tourism Fair underway till Thursday in the Russian capital.
Cuban Tourism Ministry’s marketing director Barbara Cruz wrote on her Twitter account that the Cuban stand at the fair was visited by the general director of Russia’s Tourism Federal Agency Zarina Doguzona.
Despite the impact by the COVID-19 pandemic on tourism, the Russian economic sector keeps operating as a stable market, particularly for Cuban destinations like the keys off the northern coast of the island according to a release by the Cuban Customs office which reported four weekly flights from Russia.
In the summer of 2020, Cuba reopened its doors to international vacationers particularly to the northern keys. Since that point in time, tourist sources like Russia and Canada have maintained weekly flights to the Caribbean destination.
