HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 22 (ACN) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla urged today on Twitter to strengthen multilateralism, unrestricted respect for the United Nations (UN) Charter and International Law.
In the message published on this social media, Rodriguez Parrilla reaffirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic shows the fragility of a world where nuclear arsenals are modernized and expanded, but universal access to health is not guaranteed.
The Cuban diplomat message was part of his virtual intervention at the High Level Segment of the Conference on Disarmament, where he stressed that today more than ever, human survival itself is at risk.
International peace and security are threatened by conflicts, predatory and non-conventional wars, acts of aggression and attempts at regime change, and by an arms race that squanders enormous resources indispensable for the sustainable development of our people, the Cuban official said.
Cuba participates in the Conference on Disarmament in accordance with its commitment to the international system of disarmament, non-proliferation and arms control.
