Havana, Feb 16 (ACN) Cuban lawmakers gathered in several parliament commissions assessed actions supporting the fight against the COVID 19 outbreak in the country and the implementation of the financial and monetary overhaul underway since January 1st.
The members of the parliament commissions on Food and Agriculture, the Attention to Children, Youth and women’ rights; Education, Science, Technology and the Environment held an online conference Tuesday to finetune local actions to control the ongoing COVID 19 flare up in their own territories, according to the Parliament’s website.
The lawmakers assessed the community work in favor of the most vulnerable persons and the proper implementation of sanitary and protection protocols in districts, municipalities and work centers.
The ongoing enforcement of the financial and monetary overhaul in the country was also at the center of the parliamentary discussion particularly the support of people needing financial assistance and the granting of subsidies. Other aspects included the follow up of retail prices and food production.
As part of their work priorities, the lawmakers follow up on the country’s social and economic program and the objectives to be met by different economic sectors and they also join control actions related to the implementation of the state budget, the legal norms relevant to the legislative work and other issues related to the women’s development, social prevention and the fight on corruption and minor crimes.
