First Online Meeting "Together for a Safe Internet" starts in Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 11 (ACN) Project Kikirito of the National Network Cámara Chica and the National Council of Culture Houses, together with the British Council and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), holds today the First Online Meeting "Together and together for a safe Internet".

On the occasion of International Safer Internet Day 2021, the event aims to promote a positive, respectful and responsible use of digital technologies, especially among children, adolescents and young people, always from an audiovisual perspective as Cámara Chica's usual field of action.

According to the program, on Saturday, February 13 at 10 a.m., UNICEF’s piece Don't be a star will be screened, and there will be promotional exchanges about audiovisual materials, led by Waldo Barrera, master of Contemporary History and International Relations of the University of Computer Sciences.

On Sunday at the same time, the debate will revolve around Abbie's Story and Let's Fight Together, produced by schoolchildren from the United Kingdom under the auspices of the British Council, which address from two different perspectives the issue of bullying and its psychological impact at an early age.

The meeting ends on Saturday 20th with the publication of the interactive short film Five tips to be safe on the Internet, a capsule aimed at children to help them understand and protect themselves in the digital universe, and the report Tips from Creative Youtubers, a compilation of important testimonials from young British youtubers.

Cámara Chica is a socio-cultural community project born in 2013 as a result of the collaboration between the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the British Council. It is designed to encourage children and young people to use new technologies to create and share stories about their lives and reflect what is happening in their communities.
