Havana, Jan 26 (ACN) The Cuban capital reported 344 confirmed cases of COVID 19 on Tuesday, an unprecedented figure during the current flare-up of the pandemic here.
In the face of the complex situation, the Provincial Defense Council decided to expand the number of hospital facilities particularly to treat Covid patients of pediatric age.
Authorities expect to add the local I.T. University to the chain of facilities assisting confirmed cases, as well as other hospitals in the province.
During the Provincial Defense Council session on Tuesday, Havana’s governor Reinaldo Garcia Zapata said that other large facilities like hotels should be considered for the effort if necessary.
The latest report by the health ministry says that Havana has six patients in critical conditions and another 17 in serious conditions, while a citizen died from COVID over the past few hours.
