Cuban province exceeds water investment plan by 2020.

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 6 (ACN) The Hydraulic Resources system in the Cuban province of Camagüey fulfilled its investment plan by 126% by executing, at the close of the previous year, 52.795,300 pesos, thus prioritizing the continuity of the integral rehabilitation of the aqueduct of the city.
The main works included the completion of module number one of the city's water treatment plant to provide a water treatment capacity of 1,800 litres per second, and the assembly of the pumping equipment at the facility itself.

Leonardo Soto, delegate of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources in the territory, told ACN that, 9.3 kilometres (km) of the Máximo Gomez pumping plant were completed.

In the case of the latter, he assured that they will be continued until next March to complete the first stage of the credit financed by the Saudi Arabian Fund for Development.

This, said the executive, constitutes the first challenge for the sector for 2021 as agreed during the recent visit of the Saudi ambassador to the province, which he described as very positive, and then to start the second stage that would already cover the territories of Florida and Nuevitas, with a significant number of actions.

In the works to support tourism in Cayo Cruz, water and sewage systems were completed with three pumping stations.
