HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 5 (ACN) General Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas, Cuban minister of the interior, congratulated the members of the General Direction of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR by its Spanish acronym), on the occasion of today's celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the force.
On Twitter, the ministry of the interior (MININT) published a letter sent by Alvarez Casas on the date, in which the minister acknowledged that the PNR had been in the first line of defense against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The head of the MININT highlights the active participation of the police in the prevention and confrontation of crime, illegalities and social indisciplines, in the defense of the economy and in confronting the aggressive actions of imperialism.
The new generations of policemen have written heroic pages in hard days of sacrifice, without rest, away from their families for long months, in which they have given priority to devotion and a high sense of duty, Alvarez Casas concluded.
