HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 5 (ACN) Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla said on Tuesday on Twitter that his country's foreign policy honors the principle of solidarity.
Rodriguez Parrilla stated in his message that in the context of the COVID-19 Cuba has collaborated with 75 countries and territories, and has also received donations of equipment, supplies and medical material, from 27 nations.
Despite the US government's campaigns to discredit and hinder Cuban international medical cooperation, more than 4,000 professionals and technicians belonging to the Henry Reeve contingent brigades have served to contain COVID-19.
As a demonstration of the international recognition of this work, personalities from all over the world have nominated the Cuban brigades of medical cooperators for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021, a candidacy already registered by the World Peace Council.
Besides, on September, UNESCO Deputy Director General of Human and Social Sciences, Gabriela Ramos, acknowledged the contribution of Cuban medical brigades in the fight against COVID-19 all over the world.
