HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (ACN) Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Cuba, Faisal Muslat G. Almandeel, visited Matanzas province, where he was welcomed by Mario Sabines, Governor of that western Cuban territory, local media reported.
Sabines briefed the distinguished visitor about the characteristics of the province and stressed the importance of investments in the aqueduct and sewerage of the northern town of Cardenas and its benefit for the population, a work that is being executed after Saudi donation.
The governor thanked the diplomat and his people for the support for and solidarity with Cuba, while Almandeel highlighted the friendly relations between his country and Cuba, which he described as excellent, local television reported on its website.
The ambassador noted that the Saudi Arabian Development Fund has contributed to the social and economic development of Cuba, and added: 'This is a willingness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations.'
Saudi Arabia is supporting several projects in Cuba, among them is the investment in the aqueduct and sewage system of the town of Cardenas, and the total amount through the aforementioned fund exceeds 30 million dollars, the source noted.
