Cuba and Turkey sign agreement on maritime cooperation



HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 12 (ACN) Representatives of Cuba and Turkey highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations after signing an agreement on maritime cooperation in Ankara.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey by local vice-minister, Selim Dursun, and the Cuban ambassador to Turkey, Luis Alberto Amoros.

Both parties praised the importance of this initiative, which is part of the actions to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states and will allow expanding joint development projects in the sector.

According to Amoros, the signing of the agreement demonstrates the will of the two governments to increase economic and commercial ties, despite the complex context generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ambassador assured that the planned maritime cooperation projects are of great interest to Cuba and will favor Turkish investments in the Caribbean island.
