A civilized coexistence relationship between Cuba and US is possible, Cuban diplomats affirm

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 9 (ACN) A relationship of civilized coexistence between Cuba and the United States, based on respect for differences and the identification of mutual interest and benefit areas, is possible, Josefina Vidal, Cuban ambassador to Canada, said.

The Cuban diplomat published this message in Twitter in response to the publication of Miguel Diaz-Canel, president of the Republic, who expressed in the same social media that "we recognize that, in their presidential elections, the people of the United States have chosen a new path. We believe in the possibility of a constructive bilateral relationship that respects differences".

For his part, the director general of consular affairs and Cuban residents abroad, of the ministry of foreign affairs (MINREX by its Spanish acronym), Ernesto Soberon, remarked that a relationship between equals, based on respect for the independence and sovereignty of Cuba, is the only possible road.

At the same time, Johana Tablada de la Torre, deputy director of the United States of MINREX, asserted that experience has shown that a relationship, based on respect, in which progress is made in matters of mutual interest towards a civilized coexistence, without blockade and without meddling, is possible, and would have majority support.

The permanent mission of Cuba to the United Nations expressed that the island has always demonstrated its good will and positive spirit in its international relations.
