HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 2 (ACN) - Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla regretted on Twitter Monday the loss of life and material damage caused by typhoon Goni in the Philippines.

The Cuban minister, on the same social media, sent heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the Philippines for the damage suffered.
Typhoon Goni killed 16 people in the northern Philippines between Sunday and today, while leaving five missing and its strong winds and rains totally or partially destroyed more than 20,000 houses, Prensa Latina reported.
The National Civil Protection Office said the event has been the most powerful one this year in the Pacific Ocean and the twelfth to hit the archipelago, and pointed out that human losses could still increase because, apart from the missing persons, there are areas that are not connected even by telephone.
