Cuba and Fiji sign visa waiver agreement


HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 27 (ACN) Cuba and Fiji signed today a reciprocal visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic and official passports, in order to facilitate citizens traveling and bilateral relations.

Mr. Yogesh Jitendra Karan, Fiji´s Acting Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Carlos Manuel Rojas, Cuban Ambassador to Fiji, signed the document on behalf of their respective governments.
Karan assured that this document will contribute to strengthening exchanges not only at the political and government level, but also at the technical level, in issues of common interest such as public health, biotechnology, sports, agriculture, and confronting climate change.
For his part, Rojas highlighted the relevance of the agreement for ties with Fiji and the rest of the region's island states, taking advantage of his country's status as a dialogue partner at the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).
