Tropical storm Zeta sets new record for hurricane season

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 26 (ACN) Cuban Institute of Meteorology announced at 2:00 a.m. Sunday that during the night the tropical depression Zeta remained with little movement, generating large areas of rains and strong storms in the proximity of its circulation center and southwest of it.

This development sets a new record, as it is the first time such a large number of tropical storms have formed so early in the season, the previous date being November 29, 2005.
The maximum sustained winds have increased to 65 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts, the central pressure has decreased to 1002 hectoPascal and has remained stationary in the last hours.
In the next 12 to 24 hours this tropical storm will have a very slow movement towards the north-northwest, gaining something more in organization and intensity. Therefore, the rain areas will be maintained, during this Monday, over the west and center, which can be strong and intense in some locations.
