Cuba and China review collaboration projects in postal services


HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (ACN) Cuba and China assessed Friday the possibility of implementing investment projects by companies from that Asian country, to upgrade Cuba's postal printing and mail processing plant.

Chinese ambassador to Cuba, Chen Xi, and the president of Correos de Cuba, Carlos Asensio Valerino, held a meeting on this day where they discussed the exchange of experiences and good practices in electronic commerce, and the conciliation of postal exchange between the postal operators of both nations.
The meeting, held at the Cuban ministry of communications (MINCOM), took place in the fraternal, transparent and mutual cooperation atmosphere that characterizes the relations between the two countries, according to a statement of the mentioned entity.
The Chinese ambassador thanked the support received by Correos de Cuba for the recent postal issuing on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China.
Zhan Yiweng, political counselor, and Pan Chao, second secretary of the Chinese embassy to Havana; and Isabel Greenup, director of international relations and foreign trade of MINCOM, and her counterpart of the Cuban post office, Reinaldo Rodriguez, were present at the meeting.
