HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 9 (ACN) Dr. Eduardo Martinez, president of the Group of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries of Cuba (BioCubaFarma), held a meeting with Roman Hostak, ambassador of the Slovak Republic in Havana, to discuss common interests.
According to the BioCubaFarma website, the event, which was also attended by executives from the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), was conducive to identifying opportunities for collaboration in the biotechnology sector.
Martinez thanked the Slovak ambassador and his country for the recent donation of a high-frequency lung ventilator.
Meanwhile, Hostak expressed his country's interest in products and projects of the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry.
The leading products within the Cuban business group's portfolio are generic drugs and biopharmaceuticals for the prevention and treatment of different diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, as well as diagnostic reagents and medical equipment.
