HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 28 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, Cuban president, called on Sunday on Twitter a basic act of historical justice the diplomatic relations between the Caribbean island and China.
The president recalled on the aforementioned social media that the Caribbean nation was the first country in the Western hemisphere to establish relations with the People's Republic of China.
Last June, the Cuban diplomatic mission to China presented a program of activities being carried out in both countries to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of relations, to be celebrated September 28.
The Cuban ambassador to that Asian country, Carlos Miguel Pereira, mentioned as a special moment in the celebrations the 27th International Book Fair of Beijing, and highlighted the bilateral cooperation and its strengthening in the context of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, through mutual solidarity and exchange of experiences.
At the same time, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, assured that the relations between the Caribbean nation and China are based on political trust, agreement, mutual support and broad cooperation in all fields.
The festivities will extend until October with academic seminars, a workshop on economic-commercial relations and activities honoring Cuban culture.
