HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 24 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez, Cuba´s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Carlos F. de Cossio, director for the United States in the Cuban Foreign Ministry, denounced the meeting that US President Donald Trump held in search of presidential re-election with veterans of the mercenary brigade of the Bay of Pigs invasion.
President Trump is very wrong if he assumes that the mercenaries defeated in Cuba, on April 1961, are the ones who are going to re-elect him to the White House, posted Rodriguez on his Twitter account.
That was a major defeat for the United States, the Cuban FM remarked.
Also on Twitter, de Cossío highlighted that President Trump's meeting with remnants of the mercenary brigade constitutes a curious electoral move.
These elements were launched by the United States government in military aggression against Cuba in 1961 and, despite their powerful weapons and comprehensive military training, they were defeated in less than 72 hours, the Cuba diplomat recalled.
